Lowcountry Wellness is everything I didn’t know I needed in a primary care office. They truly take things a step further—looking at the whole person, not just symptoms or quick fixes. From my very first visit, I felt heard, respected, and cared for. Stella is amazing—warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She takes time to listen, explain, and make sure I’m on a care plan that fits me. I’ve interacted with several providers here, and every single one has made me feel supported as both an individual and a parent. They’re thoughtful, proactive, and genuinely invested in your wellness—not just checking boxes. I can’t recommend them highly enough if you’re looking for a primary care team that actually cares.

I have been going to Lowcountry Wellness for a little over 2 years now. I decided to look into a direct primary care once I started experiencing perimenopause symptoms. It has been an absolute game changer!! Not only is it affordable, it’s actually CARE. I have never felt so heard and cared for, especially during a time in life that most women are dismissed. I am so thankful for Stella and everyone at Lowcountry Wellness. My son and husband also see Stella and love her. Best health decision we ever made

Dr. Penni isn’t just a doctor — she’s a detective, a coach, and a partner in health. She has helped me get off blood pressure medication, monitoring with precision, prescribing the right amount for my hypothyroid condition, has lowered my cholesterol without drugs, addressed auto-immune issues with solutions that work, put me on a specific regimen to bring back my energy, and is tweaking my hormones into a healthy balance. I’m probably forgetting something - there are so many improvements she has orchestrated for my health. This isn’t generic care. It’s tailored, thoughtful, and life-changing. I feel like my health plan is designed for me, not just pulled from a textbook. I’m so fortunate.

I can’t say enough great things about Lowcountry Wellness. As a patient, I’ve experienced firsthand how much they care and how proactive they are about health. They don’t just focus on fixing problems—they help you stay ahead of them. I really appreciate the natural options they offer, and it’s been wonderful having a place that can support the whole family. The team is kind, attentive, and truly wants the best for their patients. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Charleston!

A 1 star review doesn't suffice, but Shelby Perkins the front desk Patient Director could not have been more unprofessional and more off putting. My family had a new patient call set up. We never received a call, voicemail, or follow up when it was missed. We called the next day and unfortunately Shelby answered. There was zero contrition or explanation after our family planned our afternoon around this call. She also wouldn't reschedule in a timely manner or allow us to connect with the provider. It was one of the most unprofessional experiences we have had with any business in town. MUSC and the doctors that we are trying to have an alternative for greatly exceeded this service. Shelby was, however, very happy when she called back not to give an explanation or apology, but to say they wouldn't be rescheduling the appointment THEY missed due to the "nature of the phone call this morning." I am only taking my time to leave this review in hopes the provider and owner(s) see it so they can have more than 1 side of a story their front desk person obviously completely misrepresented. We will also be going back to the local providers that first recommended this practice and let them know. Very disappointing as we were excited to this option for both the adults and children in our family. But then again, maybe we dodged a bullet if this is the professionalism and simple kindness shown/not shown at this practice.

Dr. Penni provides the most caring, patient-centered approach to her practice and genuinely cares for her patients. She goes above and beyond to provide the best care, and is constantly striving to incorporate new knowledge, treatments, and modalities into her practice. I am very thankful to have her at the heart of my health care team. The staff are also kind, caring, and always helpful.

Every visit I’ve had here with Allison has been incredibly thorough and personal. She is a wonderful provider with exceptional bedside manner, attention to detail, & she is so incredibly empathetic. I never feel rushed or uncomfortable. I always leave feeling heard, & I truly believe these providers have everyone’s best health in mind. We are blessed to have a practice like this in the Lowcountry!

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!! So friendly, and I never even felt the needle when getting bloodwork drawn! Office is so clean and beautiful! I can’t say enough nice things!
